BEFORE YOU CLASSIFY

A few useful answers.

What the tool does, what to upload and how to use your report.

Is this tariff classification tool free?

Yes. Classify your product and answer the follow-up questions first. Enter your email or sign in with DAIS to reveal the completed classification and download the PDF report. No payment card is required.

Which commodity codes can I look up?

Choose Great Britain for a 10-digit UK commodity code, the United States for a 10-digit HTSUS import code, or the European Union for a 10-digit TARIC code. The tool uses product details and checks code existence against the selected official tariff source.

Can I upload a PDF invoice or product specification?

Yes. Upload a searchable PDF up to 10 MB and 30 pages. Text is extracted on your device into editable product fields. Review the details and select one product before classifying. Scanned or image-only PDFs need OCR first; password-protected PDFs must be unlocked.

What is included in the classification report?

A proposed 10-digit import code, product facts, classification reasoning, alternatives, assumptions, follow-up answers and dated source links. You can download the report as a PDF after entering your email or signing in.

Is the classification a binding customs ruling?

No. It is an AI-assisted proposal for review, not a binding customs ruling. Code existence does not prove the classification is correct for your goods. Duty rates, VAT, origin-specific measures and additional duties are outside the report.

How does this tool connect to DAIS?

Your data, clearly explained

DAIS saves your email, access method, import destination and campaign information to provide this tool and understand how it is used. Entering an email grants access on this browser; it does not verify ownership of a DAIS account. Any marketing preferences you provide to DAIS are handled separately.

PDF text extraction happens on your device. The original PDF is not uploaded to our server. When you classify, the product fields you submit are sent to OpenAI to generate your report. This app keeps no report history. Download a copy if you need one. A necessary access cookie lasts seven days; use “Sign out” to remove it.
